Laetetia Casta inspired drawing, loosely influenced by Stanley Lau and Serge Birault. Love to explore new ways of sketching with my new Cintiq:)
Photoshop CS6,Cintiq 13 / Intuos4, 40 minutes.
One hour sketch of a preliminary, unused concept, for a book cover I did a while ago. I revisited the initial pencil sketch and this turned out doing the drawing directly in Photoshop with the Cintiq.
Character study of Rogue from X-Men. Photoshop CS6, Cintiq, 2 hours. Reference used for the pose.
Another commission for Ren Garcia, Queen Wendilnight is a bizarre character whose body is half human and half machine, a shadow-tech-goddess - scary story, love that. Scrapsheet above and the one we picked from there to move forward.
A kinda Were-Angel was my sketchbook & speedpainting-practice of today, took around 30 minutes in Photoshop.
The Heade on the Hearth, a spaceship concept and illustration for Ren Garcia and his League of Elder universe.
I really liked to create this ship out of some rough shapes and a silhouette like you can see in the process above.
The drawing was ease to create and details were added layer by layer.
Sketch dump alert! A rough collection of digital sketches, doodles and some concepts, hope you like…
Stenstrom and the gang: a new promotional piece done for author Ren Garcia. This one was different for me, started with just one character, then 2 others came in and a background was developed upon request with a “sould-devour”.
The first sketches for this were done on paper with pencil each character on a different sheet, then scanned and merged into one composite, the stroke in the background was just to show something for a simple background. that was before the idea with the forest background came up. Next post will show refinement and better coloring stages.
